Longer term students staying in Brighton are advised to register with a local GP (General Practitioner or doctor) and a dentist. 

Some medicines and painkillers are available from chemists / pharmacies, but a doctor may prescribe you a course of medicine. Prescriptions for medicine cost £8.20 in the UK.
