What is an IELTS course?
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) for people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication.
Who needs IELTS?
Most universities ask for an IELTS score of 6.0 / 6.5 to enter an undergraduate level degree. Please contact your prospective university to check on the IELTS level needed. IELTS is a useful qualification as it teaches specific skills of skimming, scanning and summarization.
IELTS is also required for some UK visas, see IELTS for UKVI below.

IELTS for UKVI (use in visa applications)
IELTS for UKVI is a UK government approved Secure English Language Test (SELT). This means that IELTS can be used to prove your English language abilities in support of a UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) application, such as a Tier 4 visa.
