IELTS

What is an IELTS course?

IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) for people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication.

Who needs IELTS?

Most universities ask for an IELTS score of 6.0 / 6.5 to enter an undergraduate level degree. Please contact your prospective university to check on the IELTS level needed.

IELTS is also required for some UK visas, see IELTS for UKVI below.

IELTS at ISE

At ISE we offer IELTS classes Monday to Friday. We offer a flexible timetable, where you can choose to combine General English & IELTS classes. Lisa Claresby (PGCE) and Susan Porter (IELTS examiner) are our resident IELTS teachers, with many years experience in preparing students to get the best results possible in the IELTS exam.

The examination fee is around £160.

ISE students have an excellent record of success in getting the IELTS score they needed for University.
